Elsa Perreti- The heart behind Tiffany & Co.

Published by miaanita at 5:06 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Elsa Peretti born of Italian descent in 1940, discovered her first love rested within interior design. Although this love was her first, she found her way as a model traveling back and forth between London and New York City until she was 29. In 1969, Ms. Peretti found her true calling
for the cousin of her first love- Jewelry Design. Five years later in 1974 marked the year in which her very long and successful run with Tiffany & Co. would begin. Since then, Peretti has designed numerous pieces such as the round pendant, the starfish and several jewel encrusted animals, such as the snake. Elsa P. is most famously known for her asymmetrical open hearts which have lasted as one of Tiffany’s most successful lines since its creation. Peretti’s understanding of style as it is synonymous to simplicity makes her a great to me. When something can be created more than 30 years ago and it still be as popular today as it was then shows the power of a true visionary- and true visionaries now-a-days are not only hard to find, but they are priceless.Elsa Peretti circa 1969
